{CSA} Kitchen Sabbatical

Summer CSA | Week 16
In our box: carrots, cantalope, red kale, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, garlic, watermelon

No photo of the CSA haul and no new recipe this week. What on earth have I been up to? A fair question, indeed. To be honest, I've needed a little break from the kitchen. End-of-the-month lack of grocery-dollars has teamed up with end-of-the-season produce fatigue. That is to say, there has been lots of pasta and sauce 'round these parts lately with melon for dessert and not much else.

Steve surprised us by coming home early yesterday afternoon. Any excitement was short lived, though, as the reason for his early departure from work became evident. Sick, sick, sick. In writing this post I was reminded of the chicken, pepper, and miso soup that I made at this time last year when I was the one coming down with the cold. I *do* have all these things in kitchen right now...

Last year: Healing Pepperpot Soup

  1. Picking the seeds out of the melon. Precious.

Sorry to hear Steve is sick. Wishing him a speedy recovery. With a soup like you described, he should bounce back in no time.

    Wishing you a lovely day.
