Our ongoing exploration of faces (see what we've done so far here) is still a part of our rhythm. Some days more than others, but it's only ever a short stretch between comments or questions about faces. He still sees faces in everyday objects and asks about the faces of animals and insects that we meet. We talk a lot about emotions and make sad faces and surprised faces at each other. One quick, fun, and spontaneous thing we did was to use stickers to reinforce the names for parts of the face, which, of course, segued into naming body parts.
Silas had a lot of fun not only putting stickers all over himself, but also putting them on mama. We used alphabet stickers because they were what we had handy. You could turn this into a letter recognition game very easily: -- "put the T on your big toe!" -- that sort of a thing, but we kept it simple. In all honesty, we played this sticker game several weeks ago and I'm still finding these stickers everywhere. I kind of love that.
