Weekending

We slept in to a luxurious 7:30 this morning...recuperating after a weekend full of travel and family and visits. Saturday morning my dad was here for a quick visit with Silas before the football game...pushes on the swing, picking peppers, and laps around the yard, all before coffee. Then we piled in the car and headed for Steve's parents' home for an annual gathering of old friends. Silas wore a shirt that was Steve's when he was a toddler and was present at this same event..."Stephen" on the back in bold, black, iron-on letters. After an afternoon of laps around their backyard, salted nut roll bars, and delightful play with cousins, we piled back in the car and headed home. I think Nikita was convinced we would never return...she is always so anxious when we're away. Sunday was a little of this and a little of that. Many intentions...projects to work on, things to write, tasks to check off of the list...but very few of them completed or even attempted. And now it's October.

  1. Very philosophical photo! We had many intentions to but most didn't get done because of happy children.
