Our Days | Let's Go!

This Morning: The first thing we did after rolling out of bed this morning was to place a call to our friendly neighborhood optometrist. Silas got a little over zealous in his grab-Daddy's-glasses game last night and snapped them in two, so Poor Steve is rockin' the nerd look with duct tape around the bridge. Luckily, he was able to get in for an appointment tomorrow morning (he really was due for a check-up anyway); hopefully he won't have to wait too long to get a new pair. The rest of the morning was spent reading books about alligators and crocodiles. Why are they all about how various animals outwit the crocodilia and escape being eaten with their superior cunning? With the exception of the always wonderful Maurice Sendak's Alligators All Around, of course.

This Afternoon: It was a beautiful day, so we spent most of it outside. After a quick trip to the craft store (inspiration!) we stopped at a park to play before dinner. It was just Silas and I, and we were witness to a family of unparalleled sportiness. Mom and Dad jogged into the park with their three little ones, who wanted to stop to swing. So, Mom jogged in place while pushing the swings and Dad did pull-ups on the swingset frame. It was a pretty amazing sight to behold.

  1. I love trips to the craft store. So happy you are having nice weather and can spend lots of time outside, it has been rather wet and damp here. I am hoping we get some sun soon, I need it.

  2. Ok, that's over the top...jogging while swinging? Holy Cow! Hope you and Silas get to enjoy some beautiful fall weather. Can't wait to see what your inspiration creates. Oh! Isn't Maurice Sendak the greatest?!?! Love him!

  3. Love the trips to the craft store...As for the sporty family, wish I could say "oh that was us" but alas, I would have been the one telling my dog to stop sniffing the nice jogging lady...oh well, sounds like a fun day for sure!
