Our Days: "Apa"

This Morning: Waking up to the sound of drizzling rain, the season of slippers and robes is upon us...off to the library for stories about monkeys...settling in to a new ritual of snacks and stories on Monday mornings...playing in the book house and finding new friends at the train table...finding our neighbor's pit bull (she's a sweetheart) on our doorstep and returning her to her home after looking both ways before crossing the street...making our way through the L's in the great book purge.

This Afternoon: Three-hour-long naps complete with long stretches where mama could slip away and write...bliss...late lunches merging with afternoon tea, leaving the oven door open once we're done baking to warm the kitchen...squash soup with a swirl of herb butter...a little man astounding his mama and papa by doing the sign for "apple" after seeing it demonstrated only once this morning and pairing it with the world "apa"...much applauding and cheering...repeating this a dozen times to achieve more applauding and cheering.
