Weekending

This weekend was very laid back...

a three hour family nap, a trip to the "new" grocery store in our old neighborhood -- disappointingly, it looks a bit like a Wal-mart now,
a last minute decision to pick up Chinese take-out on the way home (oh egg rolls, how I love thee!),
much time spent outdoors playing with sticks and water, sliver removal,
easy bedtimes, a finished book for mama,
a second Easter with felted eggs and a bunny puppet,
a new cauliflower and potato soup recipe (which was loved by all, baby included),
introduction of the sign for "light" and maybe, just maybe the first demonstration of the sign for "cat."

  3. A three hour nap sounds wonderful.
I do hope you share your soup recipe. Your recipes have really increased my menu rotation.
Oh, I did want to tell you to try the farro, we are all enjoying it here, even my picky eater. I just like it plain with a little olive oil drizzled on top or in a pot of vegetable soup. You can also cook it [just like rice] then add fresh chopped tomatoes and a little cheese.

  5. It was pretty laid back at our house too. We also have a new grocery store in our neighborhood. We were pleasantly surprised - they are focusing on local food which thrilled us.
